Controls
Liquid Level Control Systems are used for monitoring of
Liquid Levels in Tanks, Reservoirs, Silos, Dams, in Process Liquid Level
Monitoring etc. The system provides
Visual multi level as well as
continuous Level Indication with Audio Visual Alarms at desired levels
and Automatic Control of Pumps based on users requirements.
The liquid may be Acidic, Alkaline, Oil, Water, Effluent, or Petroleum
based, in moving, turbulent or static state. The indication system is well
suited for any size or depth of tank, and can give resolution in desired
number of steps. It can be used in any location and is safety designed.
The system is very versatile, A number of tailor made variations like
control of multiple tanks, or multiple pumps are possible.
Components of Water Level System
The system comprises three main components:
Probe: Made from sealed Stainless Steel Tube, in which
magnetic level sensors are enclosed. It is top mounted in the tank. Since
the sensors are sealed in the tube, they are not in contact with the liquid,
and are not affected by liquid properties.
Actuating Float: Mounted on the Probe and floats on the
liquid. This is made either from SS 316 or PP. The float, in its vertical
movement, operates the magnetic sensors as it reaches their level. The
sensors send a signal to the control panel, which in turn provides the
necessary outputs of Level Indication, Alarm and control.
Control Panel: Mounted at any suitable location. It
converts the signal from probe into Visual Level Indication, Level Alarm and
Pump/Valve Control.

Principle
The operation is based on magnetic
sensing of levels. A float rides on a stainless Steel Probe in which Level
Sensors are enclosed and sealed. Float moves with the rise and fall of
liquid level and actuates the sensors magnetically. The signals from the
sensors are received by the Main Control Unit (which can be placed as far as
300 meters from the tank). This unit indicates Liquid Levels and provides
necessary outputs of Alarm and Automation.
